Full Service History & regularly serviced / maintained

Hi all,

Looking for some assistance. We currently have the above van in our fleet and its causing us some head scratching in the workshop.

Van is currently suffering an issue in that it keeps going into limp mode intermittently, there is no timings or consistent reason we can identify that seems to trigger it. No fault codes and reads totally clear on OBD. Limp mode is not persistent and resets when the ignition is turned off and then on again. Only notable characteristic this van has is that it has a slightly power dip at around 1300 rpm, usually 2nd year 30mph ish. Not present when at higher speed accelerations and again isn't always noticeable. Also of note, also seems to go through periods of having a slight burning smell, nothing major just sort of a whiff in the cabin and is best described as smelling like slightly burned bacon!!! Again, we can't seem to link and of these symptoms to anything substantial. So far the driver of this van isn't buying our story that it has simply just developed a personality :)

So far we've cleaned out all the injectors, one of which was replaced last year, as well as putting flush oil through the engine as well to clear it all out. The issue still seems to be persistent.
Belt pulleys were all replaced in the last 10k miles
Timing was changed at 80k and 150k
Clutch was proactively changed at 125k
Oil Changes every 8k miles
Full Servicing per Ford Maintenance Schedule

We only use genuine parts as well so everything in it is genuine Ford.

As I said previously, this van has been with us since new/delivery miles so we know what kind of life its led - a rather cushy one as it spends 80% of its time is spent on long distance motorway drives with an older driver who doesn't rag it about and does minimal city driving so has ample time to reach regen temperatures and complete the regen cycle.

Thinking the EGR route or full replacement of the other older injectors but wanted to gather some opinions as Fleet Manager isn't wanting to spend any more money on 'trial and error' repairs!! - Half the fun of being a fleet mechanic :I
Ordinarily, this van would be sold out of fleet for a constant issue like this at it's current mileage but said Fleet Manager is holding onto every van that they can at the moment thanks to Mr COVID - suppose it keeps us busy though!
