Engine ID and wetbelt or chain

Postby Smokedog » Sun Apr 25, 2021 10:27 pm

Hi

Have a 2008 transit connect with the engine number starting 7U which is from October 2007 going off some online detective work. I am attempting to find out if it has a chain or a belt?

It's on 130,000 miles and has never had any belts done as far as I can make out. Engine runs nice.

Have called two ford parts desks, one said a chain and the other said no chain so clear as mud!

Any ideas?

Don't take my word but I think it's a wet belt you have. I'm sure in 2006 they changed from chain to wet belt. I could be wrong but that's what my heads telling me
