New clutch fitted and now a loud vibration noise at 2k revs

Postby Jobe » Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:38 pm

I had a new clutch fitted and a DPF Regen. Picked the van up and now have a vibration when I am about to change gear. If take foot off accelerator the vibration noise goes away. It's around 2k revs. The garage said the noise wasn't there before and have had a good look and cant find anything?? Help? Any ideas. No engine management light on or anything. Jo

He posted the question and never returned to check for answers.

But if the garage fitted the new clutch, it's up to them to sort it, which would probably mean taking the gearbox off again unfortunately.

Check heat shields for looseness NOTE : the exhaust system has been disturbed, check silencer is not falling to bits inside or a faulty DPF fitted.

On a car in the past, a 1984 Sierra 1.8 pinto, I had 2 silencers fitted (Bosal) over a period of three months ...these would vibrate like crazy at a certain revs, which resulted in them falling to bits inside. (harmonic vibration they call it ) I ended up having another make fitted (Timax) at another fitting shop.
