Transit Connect 2003 Immobiliser Fault

Postby Scorcha » Sun Aug 01, 2021 1:13 pm

Not sure where to go with this but here goes
My 2003 Transit connect was parked up for a few months then the battery went flat. I changed the battery and went to start it but got nothing. All the dash lights come on as they should but the immobiliser carries on flashing at its normal pace and ive got ——————— where the mileage should be. Ive checked all fuses and relays and tried connecting to the obd but nothing will connect to it including forscan. Any ideas where to go from here? Don't really want to scrap the van but this is looking like my only option. Or is there anyone in or around Kent who could sort it? Any help will be greatly appreciated

i dont know

i had a new keyfob made ..
and the guy who made it programmed it by repeatedly pressing the button on the fob whilst repeatedly twisting then key in then ignition .

so perhaps try that to get it working again.

all the best.mark

Possibility that the dial cluster has a fault :?: They can suffer with moisture ingress. Try unplugging it and see if it will start then. The earlier vans should start and drive without it being connected. Simple and free to do, might be worth a go.

No luck im afraid which was a shame cos i would of liked to of got the van back on the road but after having had an auto electrician spend 2 hours on it at no charge to myself i drew the line on it and sold it as spares or repair. I believe the van has now been scrapped so im currently on the look out for another one but not willing to pay the covid premium for one
