Anyone know what the payload on a 2005 T200 LX TDCi is?

Postby coffee_king » Tue Oct 26, 2021 5:18 pm

Anyone know what the payload on a 2005 T200 LX TDCi is please?
I'm sure I used to have a URL where I could input a VIN and it would tell me all about the vehicle but I can't find it anymore.
Thanks in advance.

Ford / Transit Connect
Transit Connect 200 1.8 TDCi SWB 90L
Gross Payload (Kg) 625
Gross Vehicle Weight (Kg) 2040
Kerb Weight (Kg) 1415
Towing Limit (Kg) 800

You really need to check the actual kerb weight of your empty van, as this will affect how much load you can carry. It will vary with spec, and how much junk and fittings that you normally have inside. Ply lining will also detract from the usable load weight (payload)

The Gross Vehicle Weight (vehicle plus load) is an absolute, and will be the figure used if you're weighed at the roadside

1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)
2004 Mk6 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.0 TDDi - Vantunered (Also gone)
2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

Totally agree Al. For the information of the OP, this includes driver, passenger and fuel load. Simple things drivers completely and honestly regularly forget. The "loading capacity" of my LWB used to be (before I lowered it) was around 900kg if memory serves. This does not take into consideration how much fuel, and if I had a passenger, nor roof rack or ladders etc. :!:  Stuff I'm sure we all see happening day to day on the roads. Plenty of "knuckle dragging" going on with all manner of transits and other vans going around without a care

Thanks for your replies and all good points.
The only reason I'm asking is because I'm looking at buying a newer model and want to know what mine is currently.
So the T200 has 625kg payload and the T220 has 825kg right?

Assuming the same wheel base and spec, then yes, (probably)
