No connection to instrument cluster and pcm/ecu

Postby masterslamma » Wed Nov 17, 2021 2:12 pm

Hi,

i was a idiot and removed my pcm from my 2003 1.8 tdci connect without disconnecting the battery.

Now the car is not starting, when i turn on ignition the mileage only shows ----- and the immobilizer light is not flashing at all. Its off all the time. When trying to start nothing happens.

Forscan can not find connection to ic and pcm.
I checked all fuses and relais and the pcm gets 12v from 3 pins so should be fine i guess.

Have i killed my ic or pcm?

Is there any whay to check if the problem is down tonthe pcm or ic?

There is a similar connect in my area for sale, i was thinking about buying it and swap over pcm and ic.

Isa direct swap possible and then just reprogramm the injectors?

I would try disconnecting the battery for half an hour to power everything down, and when powering up, try re-setting the modules with forscan

Hi,

i tried disconnecting the battery with no luck.

Is it possible to reset the moduls without connection to them with forscan? I tried but it did not work.

Today i fitted a ic and pcm from another connect. With this units i now get connection. The immobilizer is activated and i get lots of pcm faults what is strange to me because the new units have the same MY 05/2002.

What would be best to donow? I thin my old IC was broken.

Maybe use the new IC with my old PCM and use forscan for resetting the keys. Or is it possible to update the software on my new IC/PCM?
