CODE 32

Postby bamptonbred » Wed Jan 05, 2022 1:39 am

Hi guys, Just joined today..
I've recently developed a problem with my Ford Connect 1.8 Diesel 2005 model.

For weeks I've Noticed my van been running little rough with some slight loss of power at times when accelerating but mostly when It's in idle.
Today my van refused to start and it's flashing Code 32 from the red led.

What Would be the likely cause from this?

Thank you

That fault flash code appears to be an immobiliser comms issue. See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=74837
Not sure what the fix is, as I haven't personally come across this, but someone with more knowledge of the immobiliser system will be able to help further.

Thanks, Can anyone tell me what the parts actually called that is likely causing the problem? And could the part be repaired rather than replaced?

If it's a TDDi (you don't say) then the part that code 32 refers to, is the electronic part of the injection pump (EDU)

If it's a TDCi, then I can't help :(

Yes it's different, a TDCi pump has no electronics, the injectors themselves are electronic, and controlled by a PCM (powertrain control module) On a TDCi there may be a separate module somewhere, that controls the PATS, which is either faulty, or has a broken wire or connection :?

Ok, I've spoken to a Ford mechanics

Said it is likely be The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and the instrument cluster.

Well that's nice and vague, I would have expected an experienced Ford mechanic to be a bit more specific

Vague indeed! FYI Bamptonbred, these should still start and drive fine with the instrument cluster unplugged. I know mine does :!:
