2018 Connect grill removal

Right, I see new front grills advertised on ebay ( pattern part for about £35 or so ), so they obviously come out of the bumper, even though they don't look like they should. Anyone had one apart? This is an early 2018, not the later facelift model. It's the part the number plate is mounted to and surrounding area.
