Spare wheel brace and jack

Postby KevofCov » Sun Jul 10, 2022 8:43 pm

2007 SWB Connect

Hi all

I have no jack or wheel brace in my new van (the spare is ok). Can I ask;

Where in the van do these items get stored?
Are these items unique to the Connect? Can I buy a brace and jack from another Ford car and they will be the same?

In my torneo they are in the rear pannel passenger side, i assume it's the same on a van without the tourneo trim pannels ?

Transit connects have scissor jacks ..and a wheel brace with hexagon on the other end for winding down the spare wheel

some other transit full size vans have a black screw operated bottle bottle jack.

If your van is 2007 and hasn't had sill strengthening or sill repairs or is showing signs of rust in the sills ..DO NOT JACK IT UP ON THEM ...which is probably why it has a bottle jack ...the last owner probably decided its better and safer to jack it up on the chassis rail - that is further inboard and more substantial.

All the best....mark

we've actually got rid of the factory jack form day one. We've been caring around a 2 ton floor jack installed. But as others have said the jack and hardware is typically stored in a pocket in the back corner of the van
