Tdci injectors

Postby ianmayco68 » Sun Aug 14, 2022 3:17 pm

Hi all , I’ve got a 2003 1.8 TDCI connect and I’m changing the injectors. Is it an easy job to do or is it best left to a garage ? I understand they need coding and I’ve got forscan, if it’s a job you can do at home as anyone got any advice, tips or do’s and don’ts. Also where is the obd port located ?
Any help appreciated cheers Ian.

OBD port is located drivers side, by your left knee, under the middle dash console. I had mine coded in by a friend at his garage using a Snap-on reader. Not sure how you do it using forescan as I've only just got it
Sorry I can't help further bro.

Cheers Kenton , I had searched on here and nothing came up but a search on the net bought up a demo from forscan on how to do it , looks pretty easy I reckon the hardest job will be getting the injectors out . I was contemplating doing the glow plugs while in there but I have a feeling one will break off knowing my luck.

Really easy to code using forscan, there website has a how to guide follow that and you’ll be good to go, are your injectors Delphi one that screw in? If so you’ll need the removal socket 21mm deep with a part cut out so you can align them upon refitting.

As for glow plugs I wouldn’t bother as like you say they can snap.

I’ve brought a new fuel pressure sensor, would it be wise to change that while I’m doing the injectors? Cheers Ian
