Timing settings

Postby Dave05 » Sat Dec 24, 2022 8:08 pm

Hi we have a ford transit connect 1.6 year 2014 the timing belt lost most of it's teeth so we have put a new belt on and we have used the timing pins, does the piston near the belt have to be top dead centre as we have tried to do it but it doesn't happen

next to nobody has experience of these engines on this forum, because mainly most of the talk here is 1.8 diesels.

however one such person is about to do all this

You'll find him a little further down on thread entitled " Crankshaft not fully turning"

perhaps he could upload some pictures and you could share some knowledge.

more detailed stuff would come from a focus / fiesta / mondeo ford community website where they are the mainstay.

all the best..mark
