2012 Transit Connect Brake Booster Replacement

Postby higguns » Thu Dec 29, 2022 3:07 am

Van got diagnosed with a failing brake booster recently.
Got the part after about 3 months of waiting as it was back ordered. Looked up online how to replace it but I couldn't find any videos for my specific vehicle but other vehicles made it look relatively straight forward. I have done lots of work on my various vehicles including replacing a brake booster and master cylinder in the past so I figured it would be a cake walk.
Attempted it and got as far as removing the air box and battery. Not sure how to access everything else and what all needs to be removed/disconnected to get the booster out. Seems to be difficult to access and reach everything as it is tucked away in the bottom driverside part of the engine bay behind all sorts of stuff.
Does anyone have a guide or instructions for this specific vehicle? 2012 Transit Connect Xlt Canadian

Think you need to let us know if its gasoline or diesel and engine size...that would be a start ..as the systems are completely different.

Well a good percentage, possibly 95% of this forum are mainly people likely to to have the diesel engines...so they will be no use .

as the diesel system for the brakes is completely different than that of a gasoline engine version...not even close .

but i have found you something similar that may help...it's a video on a ford focus ...that has i think very similar lay out to your vehicle.

let me know if its the same
