Alternator loom replacement ?

My 2003 TDDi has had the dreaded alternator three-wire loom corrosion problem in the past, and back then, I spliced in a section of wire to replace the corroded bit. Now, many years later, it seems to have gone again, so this time I ordered the loom with the plugs on the end. I can see where one plug goes into the alternator but I'm damned if I can work out where the other plug goes ! At the moment, my splice-job is all taped into the main harness, and I can't see where it goes after that.

Any ideas ?

It's a long time ago now, but I seem to remember cutting off the other plug and soldering the wires into the loom

From what I have read on other similar threads, there may be two versions of the loom. One has plugs each end, and one this cable becomes part of the main loom. If you cannot find the second plug, it seems to be a case of splicing into the main loom, replacing the exposed section.
