Connect intermittent immobiliser problems.

Postby bigjs47 » Mon Jan 27, 2025 11:15 pm

Hi guys n gals , Can anyone help me please ? I have a 2011 connect tdci . Sometimes it will start straight away, sometimes the immobiliser flashes constantly . The blink code is 22. I've tried to read the codes with an Autel code reader but it comes back as no faults . When the sun shines it's fine but when it rains it won't start. Once started it will run all day as long as I don't switch it off !! Any ideas please as it's driving me nuts .Many thanks.

No ones going to understand blink codes here ..as they don't use it , i have searched here via google, the 22 code..and ..there were no results, only someone mis-understanding the blink code..and it was another code.

for best results they recommend Forscan ...which you download to a laptop

Which you can get for FREE ..you buy the interface cable

Get it from here

https://forscan.org/home.html

You join the forscan forum .....and all questions on using it be answered there.

So your problem is damp conditions

Suggest take all the multiplugs apart and clean them with electrical contact cleaner.

with forscan you'll know which multiplugs to tackle.

all the best.mark

Sounds like one of these:
- Water in the fresh air intake - lots of damp trash leaking water into places it should not go.
- Battery voltage, or a grounding issue.
- Immobilizer module fault. Rare.
- Key antenna, or key chip issue. Rare.
- Rats having a snacc from the wires. Wildcard.

Sounds very much like there's an issue with reading the key chip. But the cause is unknown.
Forscan is the way here.

Thanks guys for the replies. I will pull the multiplugs apart clean & wd them. Hopefully this will help if not cure. Not sure I like the sound of the rat problem.

Make sure you disconnect the battery before you start unplugging connectors.
Even if the car is turned off, as some modules may still be getting some voltage feed.
To cut it short, you can cause issues to these modules from unplugging them whilst they're still getting power. (it actually is different from just not getting any power from the battery)
