few simple checks you want to check out before you delve so deeply .
as the problems ive listed below are most likely to cause trouble before anything else
- i for one don't know what is normal in those graphs and doubt anyone here does either.
so i suggest.
1. look at what the EGR is doing on forscan - MAF is monitoring the whole intake air quantity and flow , so if EGR is stuck open, and leaking air down the exhaust. it will be reporting to the PCM the values, since the values may be wrong, compared to what it should be, because of loss of pressure and flow, PCM will think MAF is wrong ..when all its doing is its job.
Trouble is, i don't know what percentage the EGR should be at a given load or revs...as only a guy who had been into diagnostics for enough time to gain experience would know. ,,..but suspect it should be fully closed off on medium to hard acceleration SO; that is what you are looking for ...think on forscan at closed it says -100 percent ..(minuis 100 percent)
If it is closed during medium and hard acceleration ...then we move onto something else .
egr is a service item that often gets gunked up and fails to operate correctly -- has to be stripped and cleaned or replaced.
2. look at the boost pipes for leaks as above - maf - for explanation
3. look with your eyes to see if the waist gates operating correctly when engine is cranked and fires up you should see valve go through a short self test. and acutely visually move. - if gears are stripped in the actuator mechanism the motor encoder will still be telling the pcm its in the correct position.
get the above checked out before anything else
all the best.mark
