check your intercooler scoop screws 1.8

Check your intercooler scoop screws or this may happen ..well its the only possible explanation ..
belt checked 2 days before - in very good condition , no cracks , no stray fibres

belt got torn off, leaving me to call the AA, when i was 40 miles from home .
...and noticed that one intercooler scoop screw was missing.

only indication given; was alternator light came on and steering became stiff .

had the thing off it and it was the left bolt that went missing ...when i put it back together the left and right got mixed up --- hence new bolt on right --- this happened three weeks ago.

it needed a new bolt plus washer plus nut. the nuts are just pushed in and captive in the plastic ..there is no real tightness because the plastic gives ... i put blue loctite on them when i put it back together.

all the best.mark
