Hi all I have a 2006 td which won't start straight away it's been in a garage thay said it was a fuel pump module 500 quid later still the same I have a snapon reader it shows no codes but when I clear codes it starts fine but if I leave it for a hour it won't start again until I clear codes again (which aren't there) here's where it gets realy weird if u turn it over about 8 to 10 attempts of about 10 revolutions per effort it will start to splutter into life only running on a couple of cylinders then about 4 more efforts it come to life!! Any ideas greatly appreciated and thank you in advance
what are the codes? Another thing to look at is the fuel filter has this recently been changed? if so check the seal is ok on the pipes it can be easy to damage the o rings
As above, air leaking back into the fuel lines through leaking seals, causes the fuel lines, and even the filter, to empty overnight, and you're cranking over and over to refill them before it will fire up

The only clue there is; by leaving it keyed on, you prevented some systems going to sleep or prevented the immobiliser activating.
Cant find info on here about resetting immobiliser ... but google says disconnect battery leave for 20 mins , OR.. then leave key in the on position for 15 mins .. which is what you did by accident .. and perhaps it fixed it.
