Power increase

Postby greyvanman » Mon Sep 08, 2008 11:01 pm

Hi,

I have a 06 connect swb tddi and its not the quickest to say the least.
What tunning options are available to increase power and is it worth the outlay for the TDdi platform. Its a clean van so will be holding on to it for a while, so a wee engine swap, is not out of the question?

Power output is 75bhp and its a TDdi model. Must have been last of the tddi's as all new ones are tdci's i think

i would of thought ,intercooler, cat out and remap other than new engine, i would of thought the looms pcm would have to be changed with the tdci engine?

i wonder if the focus tdci would go in :?:

is conect 1.8 :?: i think focus diesel is 2.0 tdci :?:

Do you mean a front mount intercooler? Does the removal of cat give a good increase in power? Can the TDdi be remapped via serial port or does it need a tuninng box?

would all this see it over 100bhp?

A take it there would be too much work involved swapping the 1.8 in favour of a 2.0 or even a 2.2 from the mondeo st tdci

sorry i forgot intercooler is on the top.

is the 75 the 55kw one :?:
i drove one before and thought it went pretty well :?:

apparently decat makes a big difference!

you could maybe decat, induction kit with bigger low line intercooler, then remap in that order that would surely get well over 100 :?:

you could ask martynx about remap, the tuning boxes are c**p.
