overheating after changing oil cooler

Postby veluxsolutions » Sat Sep 13, 2008 8:07 pm

Hi, I had oil in the coolant of my connect and have just changed the oil cooler, the heater doesnt blow hot air out and the engine over heats, does this mean there is an air lock or thermostat fault or nackered head/gasket.
Temperature is ok at standstill drive it round the block and it cooks up, stop with the engine still running and it goes back down!
Any help appriciated

Pipes on the wrong way round on the oil cooler :?: (cant remember if they can be fitted wrong :? )

Did you flush all the oily gunk out the engine/radiator/heater matrix etc :?:

Thanks coconut, all sorted, just air in the pipes. I went out and had a look an hour ago and the expansion tank was empty. All good now! :D
