Connect - buying advice appreciated

Hi, I'm helping a plumber mate buy a used Connect. His budget is £3k. I'd appreciate any words of advice on what to go for. Ideally, he'd like a TDCi 90bhp, but that's harder to find. I'm looking for info on What to Look For, what the Connect's reliability record is like, and what problem areas we need to identify before buying i.e. cambelt change history, etc and any likely electrical issues. We'll look at Autotrader to see what's available in the next few days.

Any words of advice appreciated. We don't want to buy a lemon. Cheers
