Indicators too quiet

Postby Tdci_boy » Tue Dec 09, 2008 11:51 pm

Oon of my customers has a 07 connect & wants his indicators made louder (he is old) I had thought maybe a simple buzzer piggy backed onto the flasher relay, although I found the wire that goes 13v to 0 in time with the flashers, it remains at 13v with the indicators off, any one either done this or can think of something that at the mo I'm missing. :D
Transit Custom Limited H1 L2 DCIV, now converted to van by removing the seats etc so now twin side loading doors, fully kitted out with Sortimo racking, always loaded to capacity & averages 35mpg :D

Just fit a buzzer like when wiring up a towbar.

I meant wire it at the indicators as you would normally rather than at the relay.

A small buzzer should be available from Maplin, maybe even a beeper.
Run two wires, one from each positive on left and right indicators, through diodes to the buzzer. Then earth on the negative.

Diodes are electrickery, and allow volts through only one way. Suitable diodes are 1N4001, about 10p each, or ask your local TV repair shop.

Hope this helps

The chap that owns this 1 is about 60 so the hearing is going, when I did the same to his Kangoo it was a piece of cake, just piggy backed a buzzer of the relay. I'll play & let you all know what I did
