problems with tddi engine

Postby Artur » Mon Jan 12, 2009 5:45 am

Hi!
My name is Antonio, and I'm new here.
I'm thinking of buying a transit connect. It's from 12/2005 and have a Tddi engine with 75HP.
I wonder if it's true that this engine have so much problems? There a people telling me that they "blow" at 100.000Kms...:-(... is there any true in this?

(forgive my poor english)
Regards
Artur

Hi!
Thank you for your answer. Never heard about that fuel leaks! Searching the net and talking with some friends I've heard about the problems with that engine. Maybe it's a rumour, as no one here confirm this situation! I hope I don't have two problems now :( , cause I bought it...
Again, thank you very much for your answer.

I had Focus with TDdi engine, 141000 miles and still going strong when i part ex`ed it for connect also with TDdi engine,

In my experience this engine is a fine piece of machinery and if looked after will go on pretty much forever without problems, i know of a Mondeo estate locally which is an ex taxi and is going strong with nearly 400000 on the clock with this engine fitted and its the original one 1995 "M" plate, shame the bodywork isnt as good.

Regards............Howard

I saw one the other day with a blown turbo(what a mess) apart from having to clean all the intake,it was going to need a new cat & exhaust (full of oil) as well as a new turbo :D http://www.machineryrepairs.co.uk
