If you have a any problems with your motor then doing the above is a waste of time as the problem will come back and the dash light will come back on.. the easy fix is maybe for the roadside fixers to take a light off after they have fixed the problem at the roadside without having to connect to a lap top and wast time going through the diagnostics...

Is this safe to do on a mk8 2.2 transit?

Does it work?

I have a limp home mode and engine light on which occured when I left a gravel layby so suspect an abs sensor fault.

Cheers James

This was information l received from an RAC engineer back in 2009.

l have no idea if it is still applicable to new engines, 12 years on.

Hi, would this get me back out of limp mode after failing stage 4/5 of Pilot Injector Learn? (2006 mk7 SWB FWD TDCI)

I think I bricked my ECU and the van wont start.

Can I do this without getting it up to temperature and if it works to fix it leave it until it gets warmed up?

Also how does it work if you have 2 batteries? Do I disconnect both and then short it?
