Sounds like a problem a some of us have had, myself included. All I did to solve this on my van was to remove a fuse under the bonnet, leave it a few seconds and put in again. The fuse relates to the dashboard so once removed you will need to reset your clock. At the back of the engine bay toward the right hand side is a box of fuses and relays, look under the lid for the picture of a speedo and pull out the relevent fuse and put in again after a few seconds (bottom most left from memory but check first).

Have a look at this thread:

Just to mention, I'm having the same problem too, only sometimes when I just open, get in, and shut the drivers door, the lights stay on regardless of the ignition being on and course, they stay on all the time then.
Stupid little fault!

I'm having exactly the same problem with my interior lights too - I will try the advice about the fuse (or to be truthful, I'll show a friend the advice about the fuse and ask him to sort it out for me!). Regarding the clock, mine is set at the wrong time and the clock button doesn't seem to respond to anything. If anyone knows of a quickfix for this (other than asking a friend to sort it out for me!) it would be good to know. I've had my connect 3 weeks now and, apart from silly little things like the above, I'm really happy with it.

Hi .......if its any help you must have your ignition switch turned to the 2nd postion then set clock ....hold clock toggle in and the clock should start to move quite fast toward time you wish, let go when it gets there ..............hope this is some help

Thanks very much for that - will try it next time I get in van (its raining at the moment!) Unfortunately I don't have a handbook so its really useful to be able to use this site and be put in contact with people like yourself.
Update: cheers - my clock now displays the correct time, Many thanks.

Re: Interior lights not working when doors open

Postby evocrazy1 » Tue Jan 09, 2024 1:02 pm

Absolutely love this post removed the fuse under the bonnet that was the one with the speedo logo 10amp fuse ( you can find which one by looking under fuse cover lid) left it 2nins put fuse back in and hay presto it works. Reset my 24hr time clock on the dash by hold left button on the clock display and adjusted the time. Now interior lights come on when I unlock or open any doors with the switch in the centre position in the cab. You guys are geniuses hope this reply helps others . 2006 transit connect interior lights sorted cheers guys
