Blew the turbo up last monday, and boy did it let go! Luckily, it wasn't under load, so didn't play the runaway lottery!... Was replaced by Thursday, and all is good once again. More recent pics to follow soon.

All WAS good until yesterday, when the vacuum pump decided to commit suicide. By the grace of god, it happened in the carpark just as I got to work!..... Ordered a new one, and fitting shall commence as soon as it arrives! Not having a particularly good run of things as late!.... But she has done 150k, so it's par for the course.

Bad news :(

Is it a big job?

Doesn't seem to be that common an issue on the Connects

Yeah, that was the time I started to think I might want to let her go. Too many bits started falling off. And not just the rusty bits from the sills.

The vacuum pump wasn't too bad, just time consuming. You need to pull the van forward in 4th gear to fully retract the push rod back into the engine, and there is a metal water pipe on mine that runs slightly too near to the pump, but we got over it - literally!

Yeah, I have had a run of things lately mate, that's why I have not been to get mapped yet still! I Still need to replace the steering rack, and sort out a CV joint - or two... Minor things, it's just getting the time, and a free ramp at the garage, which right now ain't easy because of the Covid MOT grace period catching people out!

Got some ramp time coming up, so the steering rack is finally being changed, along with a full checkup of all the undercarriage! Recently found a seller who is manufacturing fantastic quality connect sport rear spoilers (for the SWB) so I bought one. Being that I have an LWB, we had to shorten it, and make some other slight modifications, but all went well, and it is now sorted, sprayed, and fitted! (Pics to come I promise) wasn't cheap, but looks the part! Now need to decide on some new tyres. Thinking the Toyo CF2'S. The Toyo T1-R that I have currently are knackered, and also have produced really bad road noise since new, so hoping a more conventional tread pattern will improve this. I fitted a set of these to the missus' 16 plate focus over a year ago, and they have been fantastic...
Cheers,
K

Cheers Al! She's still driving very well, just the usual bits wearing out, but I'm replacing as required. I've still spent more on modifying than on repairs and cosmetics..... I think... I'm sure....Lol.
Steering rack next week.

Thanks very much pal! It's a labour of love, but a very enjoyable one. I am very fortunate that the van is very sound underneath and up top, but unfortunately though, being an oil burner, and one with 140k+ on the clock, the usual wear and tear is inevitable, so bit by bit, things get replaced (engine side):D The paint is original - except for the rear doors which were repainted a few years ago, due to an old dear forgetting where the brake pedal was, and a couple of minor dents were repaired.
A few more pics to come :)

Yeh my previous connect was a twat...everything mechanical went wrong.
My current boring white connect has been a good one.few mods done like wheels, facelift rear lens etc but it’s a workhorse so won’t go too mad.
