@Kenton

If the moderation team has an issue with where I post my topics, they would surely inform me where I can continue posting this. So if my topics truly upset you, then how about avoid them all together. As for what was done today, yes, all of these things were lined up today via emails with more on the way. So technically nothing physical was done to the van, but it will be within the next few weeks/months.

Consider yourself foe.

I decided to order a good used Euro 4 intercooler after my visist to Vantuner went so well, and it all arrived today! The intercooler is a 2012 unit, and in very good condition, so is the top cover (2 parts). We pressure tested it, and all seems good. Had a trial fitting, and all fell into place nicely. My oil catch tank also arrived, so that will also be fitted (rocker breather) i am going to blank off the inlet to the main air intake pipe that used to come from the rocker cover, and just send it directly to the catch - which has a breather filter on top. Far less oil vapour going through the air inlet system!

What do you plan to do with the air sensor in the side of the euro 3 one ?

Simply going to drill a hole in the same vicinity and thread it so the sensor can be put in. Maybe add a small run of PTFE round the brass thread too. I forgot to add that bit in my description of works

I’ll keep an eye on you then as I balls up and brought one of the later ones as well so might as well fit it
Also just brought a new lower gear box mount bracket £20.99 as I snapped the bolt on the torsion mount when I did the rack and ain’t changed it yet
I have got a new bolt

No probs blue. Will post pics. I'm gonna order and fit a new sensor just for the sake of it, seeing as they are fairly inexpensive. Good luck with the mount.

Again, I don't have the luxury of being able to add thing right when they happen or are installed. So last Sat had the drivers & pass anger side windows tinted. Then took an early Sunday morning pic in a local short tunnel.
imageedit_2_2532150921.jpg

net waiting on Rockauto to send out the New Powerstop carbon fiber/ceramic brake pads. Then wait for tirerack to send out those 17'' Spacro wheels with an undisclosed 215/50/ZR17 tires. Once those items are received by the nephew in North Carolina, it's time to head South west to his house, get those items installed then head over to TN to visit a shop who's been working on designing that Strut tower brace. then back home and check out another shop who's also designing their own version of a strut tower brace. Then over to a shop who's designing a couple of molle panels for the back of the van.

busy, busy, busy.

Today, I hand-filed a key for my 2013 TC. It turned the ignition -- success #1. And, I got the immobilizer programmed, and it starts the vehicle -- success #2!

After that proof of concept with a $15 non-button key from Ebay, I intend to move on to a $50 OEM remote refurb key. The only locksmith I know of that will sell a new Gen1 TC 3-button key, cut and programmed, gets $400 each.

I was using a crappy small file set from Harbor Freight. I'd like to find one good, square tapered jeweler's file to work with.

Mine is the only Tibbe key I've ever looked at. I think my pattern may be among the more easy ones, thus, a bit of luck to go with my life-long hobby interest in locks and keys.

Euro 4 110 intercooler fitted! Went well with no other alterations needed, apart from relocating the temperature sensor. The place where we were going to site it wasn't suitable as the air con connection was right in the way! So we eneded up locating it slightly further back.

Interesting that they're still using Tibbe keys on the later Connects, my (slightly) older Focus's (oldest is 2009) use a flat key.
Well done with the hand filing, I've never managed to do that successfully, but you probably took more care than I did
