No Boost and P0235 Fault Code :/

Postby shaiboyuk » Wed Nov 23, 2011 12:37 am

Hi guys/gals,

In the last few weeks my connect has lost power and never got round to looking at it :/

So today plugged in the F-Super and read the code and came up with "P0235 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Malfunction"
I've noticed that when I rev the engine the two pipes connected to the intercooler used to expand, but now there don't :?

Anyone know where to start? Its so bad when I hit I hill even trucks and caravan drivers are overtaking me :o If I drop a gear to "try" and speed up, a lot of smoke behind me....

Also in the morning, when starting can get a bit of white smoke from back, but that might be cause I start it right away without waiting for glow light to go out, not sure.

Thanks
Cheers

Thanks Kent Discos,

Don't know how I missed this, searched but didn't find it before, got it now, and posted there.
However I dunno if mine is different because of the white smoke on starting?!?!

Will trying and check airlines, pipes etc tomorrow...

No Boost and P0235 Fault Code :/

Postby shaiboyuk » Thu Nov 24, 2011 5:02 pm

Had a look at it today, stripped air box off and pipe and check vanes on turbo spin ok and no obvious damage :)

In another post, some one found that the rod from actuator bolt had snapped off, and yes you have guessed it mine is like this too :/ the rod has snapped off at the arm, see below pic:

I can't see any obvious way to reconnect it....is this fixable?

Would this being snapped off cause my issues?

I also checked the Intercooler pipes, and looks like one has a pin hole in it, called Ford and want £40+ per pipe and that doesn't include VAT :/

Thanks for any help, I've been lucky never to have turbo issues in vans/cars I've had, so never had to fix anything like this, and don't have a clue about turbos :/ just can't afford to put it in garage to fix, esp as this time of year.

Thanks again :)
Cheers

You can get the turbo hoses from viper for about £18.

Thanks again.

Hi.
This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Had to take to garage as i was too busy with work. Manifold and turbo had to come out to drill and fit a new bolt to the plate. Cost about £100. You could do it yourself if you have the time.

Thanks connectmac,

I think I'll need to try it myself, doubt I would be able to take the turbo and manifold off myself, a friend has suggested a metal bond to try and bond it back on :/
I'll try and get it sorted next week hopefully.

Connectmac, did yours get full power come back after this was working again? Also when you checked it yourself, were you able to move the actuator rod? as mine is solid?!?! Also the arm that goes into mainfold moves very eaisly, is this normal too?

Thanks again.
Cheers

hi just joined, been reading a few threads about fault code p0235 turbo boost sensor (map sensor), just got a 54 connect 1.8tddi in was not bossting & very down on power, no smoke or any rattles etc,was showing 3kpa on map - 0.0mm on egrp - & 0% on egrd. basically soemone had mixed the pipes that go to the egr solenoid and the manifold to the map sensor, put them back on corerect way and seems alot better & fault codes all gone and all diagnostic readings have gone up. so anyone with this fault might just be a idea to check the pipes make sure there in right order and not split.basically the fault codes that where showing up might of lead to buying a new map sensor -and new egr valve when that wasnt the fault.
