Was thinking about this a bit...maybe add a couple of special awards...most loved transit and most comfortable drivers seat ( there were alot of people who had put a lot of time and effort in)

Maybe a treasure hunt for kids and adults with a tmania t shirt prize...get forum members to tell you something special that is only on their van and you have to collect the registrations...

Say...who has white weller wheels...reg...

Or for a teenage range, who has a lalala subwoofer...reg...

Maybe 10 or so questions and then lucky dip a winner from the ones who fill in...that way people have a reason to mingle?

Lastly, would be great, if you know the numbers of forms returned to maybe offer a food van franchise...(maybe only 2 spaces that can be offered for a total amount of x visitors on the sunday), not having food locally was challenging and there are loads of festival van traders out there who would base their pitch payment on the numbers...assuming of course that billing allow such things...

Sponsorship is easier if you can confirm how many people roughly attended...maybe posting an advert on the facebook page may help attract more visitors and other exhibitors...it was a shame that there was a mahussive tent there that was empty...

Just a couple of thoughts, if you like them, please use them, if you dont thats cool too, as i have found on this site there aree so many people with much better ideas than me :) but hey, thats never stopped me chattin

unfortunatly billing dont allow catering traders over the bank holiday weekend we have :(

And maybe billing should think about their policy if they have so many people (inc the datsun show) maybe they just dint realise how many people need more than an ice cream and its an opportunity for them to sell a pitch even if they dont want you to, never cease to amaze me just how short sighted some firms are.

there are places on site that sell food...

the chippy/curry place about 100 yards from where you were parked, a pub and a shop not far from the site entrance etc...

the available Food was sh*t. I am hoping next year the Montys could do a little catering for a transit fan or two ( at cost )
The treasure hunt is a great idea.
The only critisism I would have is that the chaps that like to smoke the fragrant stuff do it in their vans

In an open field, even in a transit cab (considering the rust holes) im not sure you could control it, especially as i reckon it was the datsun deigoos in the next field...that was bandit country! ;)

Perhaps we,as organisers should promote the on-site facilities more to our guests then:roll: Or otherwise organise a pre-sold ticket BBq on the Show n Shine day.Anyone wanna volunteer for that .Don`t forget you will need `elf and safety and catering certificates and of course, liability insurance.
