Electrics Workshop

Postby GBBiker » Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:22 pm

Seeing as there will be a welding workshop, i thought why not have an electrical workshop as well

I've spoken to Luke and he's given it the thumbs up so how many of you would be interested?

Thinking along the lines of showing the basics of how to use multimeters to check for current drains and shorts, that sort of thing. Maybe even DIY alarm/immobiliser install advice. ICE installation, etc.

Feel free to turn up with any little electrical gremlins that are taxing your problem solving powers

Yes m8 any advice & guidance is always welcome & appreciated as i want a few things on the van done

Front fogs wired up
Amp wired up via the Factory cd player (got to get autoleads connector 1st  )

It might be an idea if we have a "round robin Demos/stalls" (thats what we call it at work anyway

Just a thought as Minormatt has suggested Welding

i think this would be good 8) - we could get say a faulty relay with a current drain on, swap it over and you could show those who dont know how to trace it  multi meters are only a few quid these days and easy enough to use if your shown how  i dont know what i'd do with out mine

Judging by the frequent queries that is common on the forum a FAQ list might be needed for both workshops eh?  complete with a few Camcorded brief uploads on the site maybe?

Something for old & new members to research back on when needed  , unless this has been done & i have'nt managed to find it

I have an electrickery problem i would like solving.

For some reason, ever since i wired my spotlights up, everything is live even when no key is in the ignition. :?: :?:

everything works, like wipers heater etc etc........... its not a problem as such, i just double check everything is switched off............... but one day i will forget   and it will be flat as a pancake come the next morning.

If anyone could fix this, i'll pour the beer down your neck for you
