free beer tent

Postby halla » Fri Aug 05, 2011 12:46 pm

Hi, Just an idea seeing as scrap metal is now £140 per ton!!! and I got rid of a very heavy broken rear spring the other day, times this by one hundred or so, and you could have a very good collection.

Then could it not be organised for a scrap metal collection on site or outside. This taken to be weighed in and a quick trip to ASDA would reveal, as the Ausies say tonnes of free beer. pop up a tent and their you have it.

At moment 20 carling cans for £10, times that by 14 equals 20X14= 280 cans. If only we knew someone with a van!
Just a thought, for organisers, this or next.

Most scrap yards closed on weekends and especially Bank Holidays. You would need someone with a waste carriers licence and a vehicle insured for that purpose.......................................alegedly.Nice idea though :)

i think the problem is the demand would outstrip the supply

i did wonder about doing a free coffee and tea tent  - as realistically giving out 100 cups of tea and coffee wouldnt be anywhere near as expensive as 100 cans of beer
also it can be a pain for those without power or facilities to boil a kettle in the morning - and i love a cuppa 1st thing to wake me up
