zig, pms3, what to buy?????

Postby trannydenz » Tue Jan 01, 2013 10:53 pm

hi guys and happy new year :D ..... getting there with my mk 7 swb camper/dayvan conversion and am coming to the electrical side of things, i want the leisure battery to charge while driving and while on hook up, i dont need a fridge and will need to power led 22 led lights in the roof lining, flip down dvd, i need a double 240 socket, i'm thinking of buying a pms3 unit and split charge relay, will this be suitable or can anyone recommend anything else as i,m a bit dumb when it comes to electrics :D :D :D ??????

i recently fit a smart charge relay. this is voltage sensing and doesnt need an alternator control wire. relay costs approx 30 quid, or buy the kit off ebay like i did :)

this only bridges the main and second battery when 14 volts are present, ie engine running. so it wont let you run down the starter battery assuming you are doing the same as me and wiring all the camper electrics into the second battery :)
