network rail transit clarks conversion

Postby duc » Wed Oct 24, 2012 8:30 am

hi
i have an eberspacher heater in the back that works fine but it cuts out after about 1 hr ,i have read that there is a an auto cut off or timer fitted somewhere. could anyone tell me where it is and how can it be altered or better still removed or disconnected
i have run the water heater and handywash and they work and will use them till i can afford to upgrade them i think. The microwave is a 240 volter  that runs off a massive inverter that i assume this will really pull my batteries power down ,so i have removed the microwave ,i am leaving the inverter in place though as i`m sure it will be useful for something .
the only other problems i have at the moment is the stupid motion censer switch by the side door for the cabin lights can this be removed and the wires rejoined or replaced it with a normal switch .thanks

the mess vans were designed for the engine to be running when you use the microwave/water heater.

I am in process of taking our the battery guard and replacing with a camper van one as i find it cuts out far shorter than the hour you mention... I'd want the eberspacher to cut out after an hour though as it does get toasty and not sure how much diesel they drink?

We've warmed the inside of our van using lanterns with tea lights - which also save battery for lights

The motion sensor could be replaced with a switch

For the ebber remove the 60 min timer and then you have to connect two of the wires uptogether, can't remember which ones of the top of my head but if you search google your find which ones, as that is what I did to mine.

The battery guard will only cut out when your batteries re to low, so if this happens to quickly then you either don't have enough charge in the batteries or they are knackered.

Motion sensor just adjust it to the longest setting, which will give you a few hours

Right i've had a look at some other pics I have, and I believe to remove 60 min timer you need to remove the yellow wire from the white connector block and connect this to the yellow wire on the reostat control should be pin 6, then take the brown wire from the whote connector and connect this to pin 3 on the controller, then obviously unplug the 60 min module
