It's easier and sometimes cheaper to insure through people like Frank Pickles and you don't have to explain what you do with the van every 12 months.

You can drive 10mph faster on single carriageway allegedly.

You can park in areas where it says No commercial vehicles.

If you try taking a commercial vehicle on a cross channel tunnel/ferry, you have to book via phone etc. and will be charged the earth. You can book a camper "online" in 5 mins. P.S I saved 100 quid on my insurance with Adrian Flux as a camper.

Camper insurance is normally around the £200 mark you can do 60 mph on a single carriage way and 70 on a duel instead of 50&60 mph apart from that there are no real benefits as such.

I stand corrected, I just looked it up and any vehicle that weight over 2ton laden, comes under the goods vehicle speed limit.

It also states nothing about camper vans , only coaches and minibuses.

I just read up on this and it doesn't say anything about a camper van only minibuses and coaches.

Speed limits:
https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits

A better link:
http://www.dcsafetycameras.org/educatio ... index.aspx

It would appear from that info that a motor caravan that has an unladen weight under 3.05 tonnes and less than 8 passenger seats has the same speed limits as cars.

I looked at the actual act and couldn't find the same information... Still not 100%
