Postby cookeye » Wed Feb 13, 2013 1:07 am

Hi, 1st post for me but my van came from a member last year
I have a problem you might be able to help me with, i own an 87 mk3 autosleeper frisky and i have no lock on the inside of the rear doors, is this something i could add as i am now replacing the two rear doors with new ones, any ideas ?

You could add a door button from a car and drill a hole in the window aperture, again drill the lever from the lock and add a rod to the button, or add a central locking solenoid and have either manual release switch or a remote module with fob

Thanks for the idea, i will have a look in the morning as i got my doors back from the spray shop this afternoon, not bad when i only dropped them off at 8.00am yesterday.
The old doors are still on the van, well the one with the lock is as i had to take the n/s one off so i could use the top inner pannel to weld onto the back of the new door as it was a high top door that i cut down to use, as such the inside is differant to the standard hight door, bit of a job but could'nt find a new n/s/r and the old ones had got the rust mite bad.

You do see new rear doors on ebay and I think Dieselhead123 had them on his list of parts for a MK5, they fit no problem, lock mounts slightly different, but doesn't affect how MK3 lock fits
