How to wire extra speakers?!

Postby Frosty3006 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 12:07 am

Hi guys. Am looking for some advice on how to wire to extra speakers to my headunit (old kenwood one) in addition to my two main speakers in the front.

So far the headunit is only running two door card speakers and as far as im aware i can run another two without an amp.

I have a load of speaker cable that i can use but have no idea where to wire them in! There are ports on the back of the headunit that you would attach a pin connector to, and there are the factory wire connector blocks with lots of different coloured wires.

Someone said something about splicing in on two wires that are within the main block. This is a bit vague as i know nothing about electrics!

Please can someone help me as was looking to get this done and wrapped up tomorow!!

Thanks guys

On the Kenwood side you should have 8 wires 2 grey,2 white,2 purple, 2 green these are your speaker wires and the polarity's are

green (+) green/black (-) left rear
purple (+) purple/black (-) right rear
