MK1 possible engines? and other stuff

I am thinking of swapping the engine in my MK1 camper. It's been used for nearly 4years. went through the MOT first time in February, but it needs updating as there are various things I prefer were more modern. I'd like proper heating, p roper wipers I'm not worried about top speed or anything.

Any suggestions? Or should I sell it?

Is it a flat front or bull nose?

It is flat front. Ideally I'd like a more modern diesel engine and like I say I don't want it to go faster I just don't want to be sorting minor problems.
The camper part is nice and warm, even in the winter, but I'd like something that is more useable.
