Slightly large for a van maybe but of anyone is thinking of getting solar panels, try Bimble Solar.
Brilliant prices

That is a good price.

Panels are 2nd hand though... Not sure if that is a problem.

Kinda put off by payment by cash or bank transfer though...

Not all panels are second hand..the 165w ones are brand new. Got two on my boat and they are fantastic.
Wouldn't be put off by payment, I used a credit card anyhow.

Hi guys,

how would I go about fitting one of these to the roof of my connect? Seeing as they have the channels??

Cheers

I used Sikaflex 512 onto my fibreglass roof...

On my mates van he used clear silicone and some short fat self tapping screws.

Better to screw it down on urs else somebody may well just nick it. I could pull mine off if I levered it just right, but being hi top I am not concerned.

I gave them an email and it seems the smallest panel they do is still massive, may keep on looking though....

What size in watts are you looking for?

a 100w is the same length as the roof of hitop mk4 and maybe 2.5ft wide.

Ud be better with with flexible solar panels like they have on canal boats. They are on ebay. Bitof putty in the channels on van and people will barely know its there. Another 20% more expensive.

Kedishen,
Around 100w I think, to help power the sound system :)

Flexible ones will have to be the answer I think, i'll keep looking!

sitdownsurfer :- I used omega channel section, welded captivated nuts inside & then welded these to the roof, custom stainless fasteners & stainless wire ingress plate (60w array). Been sweet these last 5 years. The sunroofs were way harder to fit...

They appear to be polycrystalline as opposed to the more efficient monocrystalline (11-15% efficiency compared with 13-17% efficiency) but still they look like an attractive offer.
