thetford cassette C2 electric flush no go

Postby Jimimitch » Wed Feb 11, 2015 5:38 pm

Hiya guys, I cannot make the toilet flush which is a bit of a bugger!!!

I think the toilet it a "thetford cassette toilet model number C2. Again i have read the manual and appear to be doing everything as per the instructions, but the pump will not work. It does not even make a noise. Is there a fuse somewhere that could have blown? What process should i follow to isolate the problem???

Thanks again

hello there, been a few years since I had probs with one I had in a caravan but I think there is a micro switch that can cause problems or it could be the pump itself can work out quite expensive. what I did was buy the manual conversion and changed it.

Theres a fuse in the compartment where cassette is. Remove it and should be obvious.

If its not blown, get a volt meter and check you have 12v at the fuse holder contacts (live on the fuse holder, other to any clean metal on chassis, may have to extend the negative cable to reach something).

If fuse is not blown and you have 12v, then you will wanna test the pump switch and its motor. You may have to remove it to do this. Heres a link to the overhaul manual

http://www.ok.eclipse.co.uk/manuals/the ... repair.pdf

To test the motor, just fed 12v to it from the engine battery. If it works, problem is the switch or the wire between fuse and switch connection.

pump is easy to change just take out toilet roll holder and its underneath held in by a screw
dont forget to heat shrink wrap the cables when you refit 10 min job cheaper than changing full unit
