Ground Clearance below tanks

Postby paulrichardson » Wed May 13, 2015 1:36 pm

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get some tanks under my SWB MK7.

I've made a cardboard version of one of CAK's tanks that fits (I know it won't hold the water very well) to see what the ground clearance is.

It works out about 15cm.

I wondered what you guys thought about it.

I've measured my Saab and that has a clearance of about 19cm so it's not much different, it just seems so low compared to the rest of the space under the van.

I look forward to hearing your comments.

Regards,

Paul

It all depends on your angle of departure
Where is it midships or aft?

A cardboard tank should be OK btw
I made the waste for the arsewash 3000 out of plywood
Just pop a bit of fiberglass in it

There's not much depth there
Speed bump front over back not over bit of weight in the van
Would it touch?
I think mine is about 15 cm off the floor but i havent been out on the road with it yet

insurance-wise it's as well to go with CAKS transit recommendations listed on their web site.........visions of roadcone on M1 causes 789 casualties.
