Water leak on rear door

Postby munrobagger » Sun May 31, 2015 3:16 pm

Hi my ford Transit 2009 campervan has recently developed a leak thru the rear doors :? and it's doing my head in the water appears after rain at the lower corners of both sides of back door. Any body had the same problem or how I can stop it. Water ingress is not good in a camper van.

Are the door lined all the way to the edges, or is there metal to meet the rubber seal?

Hi there are trims around the back windows, the outer aspects of which are going beneath seal when doors are closed.

Turned out to be the main rear door seal on my 2003 van. Pulled it off, put marine silicone sealant in it and put it back on again and no more leak.

Mine was on the bottom right hand corner of the floor (facing the rear of the van) close to the door.

Hope that helped.

Colin. :)
