12v electric problem

Postby ergs » Sun Jul 19, 2015 3:20 pm

Hopefully an easy enough sort but I thought I'd better double check here before I start tampering. The 12v electrics in the camper aren't working. The leisure battery is giving a reading of 12.3V across the points. Theres a cable feeds under the van and connects to the control plate in the rear. When it gets here there's no reading on the multimeter. There's an inline fuse just near the battery which isn't blown and gives the same 12.3v reading. So is the problem going to be the cable itself, or is that too simplistic? The +ve cable leaves the battery as orange and comes out the other end as red btw! Cheers

Oh aye and the electrics all work fine running off 240

Could be a rotten connection on the cable.
Try running a temporary cable to by pass the cable from battery to control panel and see if everything works

Got under the van tonight when it was dry and found that someone had helpfully tied the cable up with a cable tie to take up the slack and that the -ve wire was broken there  problem sorted
