Recommendations on an inverter please

Postby Baldbloke » Sun Jun 28, 2020 10:35 pm

Hello all
Does anyone have any recommendations on makes of inverters please.
I need one for a work vehicle.
It will need to be a pure sine wave but looking online it all seems to be a bit of a minefield to find the right one.
It will need to have decent wattage to run the odd power tool but it will mainly be used to charge laptop and batteries (for power tools).
I have an auxiliary battery already installed.
Is there a reliable brand out there anyone would recommend?
Will...

I ended up purchasing a Victron energy 12/1200. Going to wire it up at the weekend.

I don’t know what make my one is but it won’t run the low wattage microwave, but then again, that might be the problem with the leisure battery rather than the inverter, it runs the telly quite well for one a half dvds lol

You’d be better off with a 12 v tv I got on from Aldi but before that I used a 240 v one that had the step down transformer that plugs into the mains just had a 12 v lead made up local caravan accessories shop said it wouldn’t work but he was wrong I used it for 8 years without any problems only updated as it wouldn’t work on Southern Ireland TV .

Definitely will consider that, especially as the damn remote has gone walking
