Smart Alternator

Does my 2018 Ford Transit have a smart alternator if it reads 14.4 volts? I'm installing a Renogy DCDC 30S, DC-Dc charger and it says if my alternator reads 14.4Volts then its most likely a traditional non smart alternator. Then i wouldn't need to attach the ignition signal wire

Yes a smart alternator.

Would suggest a B2B charger. Not only does that solve the problem (no ignition signal wire required), but it will charge your leisure battery far more quickly, and prolong it's health, too.

I'm afraid the Renogy DCDC does need an ignition signal, as do most DCDC chargers fitted to smart alternators.
