Will NoNails stick to Fibreglass?

Postby CanalDigger » Sun Aug 25, 2024 10:01 am

Please does anyone know if No Nails (or what else) will stick to Fibreglass (the rough side)? The screws holding the rear light lens assy, on the rear panel of my Transit based Motorhome, have been overtightened, so now the screws fall out. My idea is to enlarge(!) the hole to take a Rawplug, Superglue it in place and through yet more holes(2?) then inject NoNails around the Rawplug. Please does anyone have experience of this sort of repair or a better idea. Given that once the No Nails is in there, I can't then get it out, I have only the one chance at doing this repair short of a taking the back panel off!

Epoxy resin is the best to glue onto fiberglass. You can also add chopped fiberglass to the epoxy or micro baloons to thicken or buy it thickened. There's alot of info on the boat building forums and Youtube about this.

i think NM Nails sets hard and brittle ? if so i'd not use it, i use sikaflex, it stays plyable and deffo sticks to FG .

I used "rubber nuts" to overcome a similar problem. Search rubber nuts on Amazon. I'm sure you get them as small as to accept maybe a 3mm bolt.
