It depends how far you want to go. If corrosion still isn't a problem then get a length of steel. Heat gun any seam sealer or underseal off the area, then flap disk, wire wheel it all clean to metal then rust treatment then weld the new metal on.

But I replaced my panels properly. I can't really see a beneficial reason for quickly knocking something up. I know you weren't scared of getting the welder out. But with a 8mm spot weld drill bit and 1mm cutting disk you can remove the front arch and then the front inner cill and spot weld new ones in then loads of sealer. Could you maybe fabricate something to bolt to the chassis that covers the areas you want to protect?

Back again. Well hunting through local whare house and found this powder coated fencing capping. checked it out and thought this might solve my ugly looking sills. so here's the result. sure tidy's the looks to what it was.

The old one weren't crushed but just stoned hammered and didn't look very nice. this really tidies up the mess. and don't have to paint them either. for now!

That's an incredible build. My next van I will need to cut out the side to allow room for the east west bed, so pods might be the way to go, think a slide out is beyond my skills. Regarding the fence capping, have you a link to the product you bought? Did it fit without modifying and how did you attach it? My sills are not rusty, but a bit dented where someone tried to use them as jacking points...

I've always thought there was a lack of side skirt options for the transit mk7. I'm not a fan of the sport ones, especially if you are trying to look standard but a bit nicer.
Even looked at measuring other branded skirts to see if they'd fit. These look good from this angle

ok maybe I should have said I cut the right hand lip and first section off it so it sat flat on top of original sill and bonded it on. then the bottom clipped under the sill seam. hope that makes sense.
