some countrys you must have 2 warning triangles, to be placed at the front and rear of the vehicle when you have broken down.

some countries speed trap warning devises are agaist he law. and you will be fined.

some countries, i think its france, you could be fined if you are stopped and asked to identify roads side signs and you can`t.

in germany its its almost the norm to drive like a knob, not give way to other people, overtake when theres no room, pull out in front of other drivers and flash your lights at folk so you pull to the side to let them pass you, only to be in your space you just vacated as there are 30 other vechicles in front of them.

just copy how they drive and you`ll fit in perfect.

i don`t want to scare you too much.... but becareful when you park overnight, there was a spatof attacks where some sort of gas was forsed into the cab of sleeping people, knocked them out good style, so the robbers could just break in and ran sack the cab/sleeping area.
jumbos do it standing up....

It might be the norm in Germany to flash your lights in an aggressive manner to try and persuade someone to move out of the way but it has been against the law for some time and the police there will pull drivers over who still insist on the practice.

The stories of gas attacks on vehicles are still being taken with a pinch of salt. Read up on the internet to get a balanced view point. If wild camping I would suggest not to drink too much as it does seem that drivers who claim to have been gassed have actually been either drunk or had their drinks spiked.

My best bit of advice for any long trip is do not worry or spend time wondering about what nasty things could happen to you. Enjoy your planning, if any!, then enjoy the trip.

European breakdown cover is essential in my opinion.

Check that you have suitable motor insurance for all the countries you intend to travel through.

Warning triangles, driving licence, registration document, Hi Viz jackets, spare bulbs, belts, water.......and some of your favourite sweets and CDs. Dont forget your passport

Have fun!!
