Saturday saw my 1990 Mk3 2.9V6 Transit Ambulance PASS its MoT with only a couple of minor things being needed to be done, surprisingly no welding (which is nice). I had been waiting for that day for ages as being a scabby, scrounging (mature) student I had to wait for my loan and grant to come through to pay for it. Apparently now the fun begins.
The Ambulance was bought in March directly off the St Johns Ambulance people for £750 and to be honest I was quite pleased with my purchase, one of ebay's finest if I say so myself. (Both of us are Door Supervisors as well as being students) Given it's size price and fact that its half done for you, Amby seemed like the ideal set of wheels.
The worry for me for the MoT was the leaking of some sort of fluid from the hubs on the back wheels and I even came on here airing my concerns. These were soon realised as the oil seels had disintegrated and I needed to have the half shaft stripped and repaired. This was surprisingly inexpensive though. (way beyond my technical ability, although I do have some awesome tools
