any suggestions for me?

my wife has a bad back and needs to move about in bed but the camper bed is just a bit too small to allow for this.ideally i would like a double blow up bed in the back,i have looked at taking out the wardrobe to gain an extra foot but thats not enough and i dont want to completely re-arrange the camper as its possibly one of the last of its kind so want to keep it as origional as possibal because if i cant sort something it will have to be sold before the summer starts properly.

can anyone suggest anything please apart from sleeping in a large tent as i thought of this but that just wastes the camper.

Having occasional similar problems, we found that the best way to get comfortable is to have a duvet underneath us as well as on top. This helps keep an even warmth and cushioning which is most soothing. I know this doesn't get more room. Other suggestion: Can you not take just the bottom part of the wardrobe out so that you sleep with your feet inside where this part of the wardrobe was? We had to do this on one conversion, it looked awkward but was actually fine. John G

Make it so the front seats rotate 180º and extend the bed into the cab area

Hi Elvisvan. When we had a Mk1 camper with the same bed layout as yours.We changed the front seats for some seats that folded flat.We then made up a piece of ply with a cushion to go inbetween the front seats.Worked ok for us.! If i remember right,the seats came out of an old Bedford Autosleeper from the scrappies.

i think after talking bout it a little more we are going to put elvis for sale and use the tent with a good bed so if anyone interested we would be hoping for around £2250.

hey ! i see you've taken out the plastic console and replaced it with wooden panelling, where did you put the speakers if you dont mind me asking! I have a brand new second hand '86 Mrk 2 fresh from round trip London to Landsend.
