Ply lineing

Postby zaphod79 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:49 pm

I have finished my insulation, and im about to put in my roof light and vent. After, or before that i need to ply line, I have a LWB med roof mk6, has anyone got any ideas on the best way to go about doing this.

What thickness of ply shall i use?
Should i do the side or the roof first?
Should i flex the ply round from the roof to the side?
Has anyone got any measurements templates?

Cheers for any help

I have another thread going on ply lining my 330, the concensus seems to be 6mm walls and 9mm floor, there are a few links in the other thread to suppliers of kits!

in therory you should do the roof first then any over lap will get covered by the sides ,plus helps to surport the roof,.....(might be wrong )

yes 6mm for the sides is the way to go,

on my low roof swb used 4mm on the doors (no windows) as it flexed more to the shape,

dont know the size of a lwb med roof but might be worth looking at using 10 x 5 sheets (sometime hard to find stockist though) IF they fit better than 8 x 4
on the low roof it means you dont have a small fillet at the top or bottom

common sence but watch the length of screws and look for wires,

simple idea is to take a digi picture of each side, & print off then you can measure & mark on the pici where all the metal frame is to fix to

get some insulation on the floor as well, even if its just a good underlay,

just a few ideas
