How to clean up plastic surfaces in cab etc?

My 2005 transit was previously used in the building trade and the plastic surfaces in the cab are faded and discoloured. This includes the dashboard, window ledge, door panels and door-handles. I've tried scrubbing with soap and water as well as the foamy cockpit cleaning stuff, but nothing works, since it's not just surface grime, but the material itself is discoloured. I'm thinking the surfaces will need to be painted or coated in some way to recreate an even clean surface. Any ideas?

I remember using a Plasticote type of spray paint on several cars in the past to re-vitalise dashes. Fooked if I can remember what it was called though

Try one of the bumper black type of products (before someone mentions it, they don't make your dash BLACK). Aerospace 303 is very good.

In the past, Ive washed the worst off with soapy water then once it's dry clean everything again with WD40. Then after that one of the dashboard shine polishes like back to black as mentioned above.
